Short Bio

 

Dr Kazuhiro Shikinaka was born in Mie Prefecture, Japan in 1981. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in 2008 from Hokkaido University. After that he was a Postdoctoral fellow of Hokkaido University (2008) and an Assistant professor of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (2008-2016). He is currently a senior researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (2017-). Currently Dr Kazuhiro Shikinaka’s researches focus on the functional materials consisting of rigid inorganic cylindrical clay minerals and on the full utilization of plant biomass as basic chemical products. He was the recipient of Award for Encouragement of Research in Clay Science; The Clay Science Society of Japan (2018), the Chemical Innovation Encouragement Prize of the Japan Association for Chemical Innovation (2016), Award for Encouragement of Research in Polymer Science; The Society of Polymer Science, Japan (2014), Award for Encouragement of Research in Fiber Science; The Society of Fiber Science and Technology Japan (2014) and FAPS YOUNG SCIENTIST POSTER AWARD in 2009.
